Terms of use
Last updated: 1 September 2026
These terms govern your use of this website. They are not the terms on which we accept engagements — those are set out in an engagement letter issued and agreed before any work begins.
1. Who operates this site
This site is operated by Linx Accounting Services Limited, trading as Linx Tax Defence, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 11742116, registered office 124-128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX.
2. We are not HMRC
We are an independent accountancy practice. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of HM Revenue & Customs. If you are looking for HMRC, its website is gov.uk.
3. The information here is general
Everything published on this site is general information about HMRC enquiries, investigations and disclosures. It is not tax or legal advice and does not take account of your circumstances. HMRC correspondence varies, and two letters that read similarly can be materially different documents.
Do not act, or decide not to act, on the basis of anything on this site alone. If a letter has arrived, have it read.
4. No adviser relationship until engaged
Contacting us, including sending a photo of a letter, does not by itself create a professional relationship. We become your adviser only once an engagement letter has been issued and agreed and, where relevant, we are authorised to act with HMRC.
5. Accuracy
We keep this site up to date as far as we reasonably can, but tax law and HMRC practice change. We do not warrant that everything here is current or complete at the moment you read it.
6. Links to other sites
Where we link to another website we do so for convenience. We are not responsible for the content of sites we do not operate.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the general information published here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
8. Complaints and regulation
Linx Accounting Services Limited is licensed and regulated by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, licence number 4859891. If something has gone wrong, contact us first at [email protected] so we can put it right. If we cannot resolve it, ACCA operates a complaints procedure for the firms it regulates.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
